I learned to started beatboxing with my flute after hearing Greg Pattillo‘s version of Badinerie in the Italian Flute Festival, Falaut. He gave me some pointers on our ride to the airport the following morning. A few months later, Annie Wu contacted me as she was learning Greg’s Three Beats as it was the NFA High School Competition required piece. I had to really dive in to learning beatbox which then became a passion and love. More recently, a student of mine asked me to teach him how to play Pink Panther but in beatbox style…. sooooooo, again, I had to figure it out! I premiered my version at Flutes by the Sea earlier this year and finally, here is the video!
